Followed by the importance of maintaining the balance between Serotonin and Cortisol: positive attachments (Oxytocin and Vasopressin) can serve the dual purpose of 1) maintaining this balance and 2) converting the “happiness side” of Dopamine. Repetition Compulsion (see Trauma Glossary 2), or toxic relationships are among the fastest means of upsetting this balance.
